LG Twins infielder Lee Young-bin (22) of the professional baseball team got a chance to start about a month after his discharge from the military.

Lee Young-bin will start as the 9th hitter and first baseman in the game against Kiwoom Heroes held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 24th.

He filled the spot left by starting first baseman Austin Dean, who was playing as the third designated hitter that day because his knee had not fully recovered.

Lee Young-bin returned to LG after being discharged from the Armed Forces Athletic Corps (Sangmu) on the 15th of last month. Since his return, he has appeared as a substitute in 8 games, hitting 3 hits in 5 at-bats.

LG manager Yeom Kyung-yeop said, "Today's opposing pitcher (Kim Yoon-ha) is a pitcher that Young-bin can fight against," and added, "If he can produce good results like yesterday (when he hit a hit), he will gain that 토토 much confidence."

He also revealed plans to develop him into a successor to starting shortstop Oh Ji-hwan in the long term.

Coach Yeom said, "The first goal is to develop him into the next shortstop after Oh Ji-hwan," and explained, "He will be his main position at shortstop, but we will also have him practice playing first base and third base."

Regarding the possibility of Lee Young-bin starting as a shortstop while Oh Ji-hwan is resting, he said, "Koo Bon-hyeok is still much more stable. Right now, it's a time to decide (the ranking battle), so it's burdensome to use Young-bin."
